Speaker Profile and Biography Overview
Sanne Fong is a registered OT in Hong Kong with a career beginning in 1988, primarily providing OT services in public hospitals and contributing to undergraduate clinical education. A key achievement was leading the commissioning of rehabilitation services for the Hong Kong Children’s Hospital, a role that included study visits to leading children’s hospitals and rehabilitation centres in the USA, Canada, France and the UK. She organized overseas training for staff and coordinated interdisciplinary international conferences. After retiring from the Hospital Authority in 2024, Sanne joined The Education University of Hong Kong to help commission its MOT programme.
Since 2024 she has served as Chair of the HKOTA leading the organization to hold the Hong Kong OT Conference in 2025. She has been contributing to accessibility initiatives and other professional societies, including the Hong Kong Society of Children’s Palliative Care and the Hong Kong Institute of OT, extending her influence to the rehabilitation development in Chinese Mainland. She is Honorary Advisor to the S.O.A.R. Education Foundation, a Medical Advisory Committee member of Make A Wish (HK), Hong Kong Convention Ambassador for the Tourism Board. In May 2025 she received the Rotary International District 3450 Governor’s Award for Vocational Service Excellence. Current appointments include roles with the Hong Kong Red Cross Special Education and Rehabilitation Service Governing Committee, the HK Occupational Therapist Board accreditation team, and advisory and expert panels on primary care and OT service standards, and Co-convenor of Task Group on OT Service Standards in Primary Healthcare.
