Speaker Profile and Biography Overview
Dr. Kamyar Rouindej is a PhD-trained mechanical engineer and MBA holder with expertise spanning grid-scale compressed air energy storage (CAES) and healthcare technology commercialization. He earned his PhD (2014–2019) and earlier graduate degrees from the University of Waterloo, and completed an MBA in Germany focused on global operations. Since 2018, he has led Volta Technique Inc. as Founder and CEO/Chief Technology Officer, and in 2023 he became Managing Director of Expertiqa Technologies. His research combines data-driven grid analysis, thermal management, and user-centered design to advance near-adiabatic CAES solutions. Kamyar also co-founded Hyivy Health Inc., contributing to assistive and medical device development, including pelvic floor rehabilitation technologies. He is an active advisor and mentor in cleantech strategy and business intelligence, and his work has resulted in multiple granted US/EU/UK patents and peer-reviewed publications.
